PUTRAJAYA, December, 12, 2025 - UNFPA in Malaysia, in partnership with the UNU-IIGH, officially launched the Confinement Centre Report, a study examining postnatal care practices in confinement centres across Malaysia. The report offers a snapshot of existing policies, practices, and guidelines, while identifying critical gaps and opportunities to strengthen the quality, safety, and standardization of postnatal care for mothers and newborns. The study marks an important step toward understanding the current landscape and informing targeted interventions to ensure the healthiest possible start for Malaysian families.
