Census/population data collection and analysis
UNFPA has supported knowledge sharing within the region via the participation of Malaysia’s National Statistics Office in regional trainings on conducting census. UNFPA is also a member of the government’s population policy review committee, and has conducted population situation analyses for Malaysia that will feed into the country’s population policy review. Looking ahead, UNFPA’s focus will be on advocacy for population policy to reflect the country’s changing demographics, including population ageing.
